FAQs

What is the minimum reservation time?

The minimum reservation time is 2 hours. As a former photographer myself, I know that most sessions are around 45-90 minutes per client, or less for mini sessions! The 2 hour minimum ensures that not only will you and your client enjoy not being rushed during your reservation, but that you’ll also have plenty of time to clean up and leave the studio in the condition it was in when you entered.

What kind of sessions can I shoot here?

The studio is used primarily as a luxurious boudoir studio, complete with a hair & makeup/changing room and 2 other rooms decorated with unique sets. However, any clients looking for moody lighting, rich tones and textures, and interesting sets would be overjoyed with how their images turn out here.

What’s the lighting situation like?

The main room, a corner room facing north and east features a large eastern window (hello bright, direct morning light) and a northern window. The entry room features one north facing window. The Grand building sits directly north of the studio and it’s southern wall acts as a light reflector, bouncing warm light into the studio through the north. The entry room creates very dramatic lighting. All windows feature velvet curtains so you can control how much, or how little, light to let in. You’re welcome to bring any artificial lighting you need.

How long will the studio be available for?

Currently, the studio is available for the first time ever this year! From just August to October 2025, it’s unknown whether it will be available for rental again in the future.

Is the studio ADA accessible?

Yes! The studio is located on the 4th floor of the Willamette Building in downtown Salem. There are two large elevators, wide door ways and hall ways to accommodate wheelchairs. There is a bathroom a few feet away from the studio entrance which is also ADA accessible.
